DMCA Notice Procedure
1. Mango Player's Position
Mango Player is a media player. The application does not provide, host, broadcast or make available any audiovisual content. Users import and play their own M3U playlists or Xtream Codes credentials obtained from third parties.
As such, Mango Player is not a content provider under copyright law. Nevertheless, we take seriously any request from rights holders who believe that a third-party source distributes their works without authorization, and we have implemented the procedure below to facilitate cooperation.
2. How to Report Copyrighted Content
If you are a rights holder (or a duly authorized representative) and you notice that a third-party source distributes your works without authorization via a playlist or an Xtream Codes server that Mango Player users could import, you may send us a formal notification to:
E-mail: legal@mangoplayer.app
Subject: [DMCA] Takedown notice — [name of the work]
3. Information to Include in the Notification
To enable us to process your request efficiently, the notification must contain:
- Your identity: full name, company name if applicable, postal address, phone number and e-mail address.
- Your capacity: copyright owner or authorized representative. In the latter case, please attach a copy of the authorization.
- Precise identification of the copyrighted work: title, registration number if any, proof of ownership (links, excerpts, attachments).
- Precise identification of the infringing content: URL of the Xtream Codes server or M3U playlist in question, channel or file identifiers allowing exact location.
- A good-faith statement that you believe the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Your signature (handwritten or electronic).
An incomplete notification may not be processed. We recommend that you include the full URL and, if possible, a timestamp or a screenshot of the alleged infringement.
4. Response Times and Commitment
We commit to acknowledging receipt of your notification within 72 business hours and to processing the request within a reasonable timeframe.
If the notification is well-founded, Mango Player will take the following measures, to the extent of our technical capabilities:
- Internal blacklisting of the concerned server URLs so that the application can prevent future imports of the source on the client side.
- Forwarding of the notification to the rights holder of the concerned server where identifiable.
- Documenting the incident in our internal records for audit purposes.
Since Mango Player is neither a hosting provider nor a content provider, we cannot directly remove a broadcast operated by a third party. We can only act on our application's ability to import or display the source in question.
5. Counter-Notification
If you operate a legitimate source that has been incorrectly reported, you may send us a counter-notification at legal@mangoplayer.app with:
- Your identity and contact information.
- Exact identification of the wrongly reported source.
- Proof of your right to broadcast the content in question.
- A statement under oath that the report is erroneous.
6. Abuse of the Procedure
Fraudulent, abusive or unreasonably repeated notifications may be subject to legal action under applicable law. Under French and European legislation, anyone making a false declaration engages their civil and criminal liability.
7. Jurisdiction
These rules are governed by French law. Any dispute concerning a DMCA notification shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent French courts. For rights holders located outside the European Union, we apply the principles of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act by analogy, without however recognizing the direct jurisdiction of U.S. courts over our activity.
